Microsoft Previews AI Features for Notepad, Snipping Tool Improvements in Windows 11
An artificial intelligence system could consider many different aspects while deciding on the best cash management strategy. It would be similar to an actual manager. It is anticipated that AI-driven tactics would revolutionize the financial sector's long-standing trading and investment procedures. Decisions would have to be made rapidly and arbitrarily, which might have a huge influence on business and be fatal for financial management organizations who cannot afford such facilities.
Highlights:
- AI advances in finance streamline decision-making but pose challenges for non-adopters.
- Windows 11 updates bring AI features to Notepad and Snipping Tool, enhancing text understanding and screenshot annotation.
- Windows 11 24H2 update introduces improved Copilot and potential AI-based gaming performance boost.
The new Windows 11 features were revealed by Microsoft's Dave Grochocki, Principal Product Manager Lead for Windows Inbox Apps, via a Windows Insider blog. Explain with Copilot is a new feature of the lightweight Notepad programme (version 11.2401.25.0) that will aid users in comprehending the content of a file. To use this functionality, users only need to highlight a section of text in the app and right-click to bring up the choices menu. After choosing, it will highlight and describe any specified content, code parts, or log files. Additionally, users can instantly launch Copilot by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + E.
AI powers are already included in the Snipping Tool. With it, users may use screenshot photographs to automatically remove sensitive text. On the other hand, it can now include forms in screenshots. Once a capture has been obtained, users can choose the appropriate shape in the image by selecting the new shapes button in the toolbar. Rectangles, ovals, lines, and arrows can be added by users to better annotate text and image portions. You can adjust the shapes' dimensions, position, and color. Windows Insiders can access these features in Windows 11's Canary and Dev Channels.
The next significant feature upgrade to be released this year is Windows 11 24H2, which the tech giant also recently confirmed. An enhanced Copilot is anticipated in the upcoming edition. For better gaming performance, Microsoft may include its own Super Resolution technology, akin to DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), in the future Windows 11 24H2 update. The technology makes compatible games run more smoothly and at higher frame rates by using AI.
Notepad and Snipping Tool have new features thanks to Windows AI.
A right-click on a line of text can activate the new "Explain with Copilot" feature in Notepad updates. With this innovation, users may ask Copilote—which is incorporated into Windows—to explain specific files, code segments, or the entirety of the content they've chosen right from the application. An innovation that turns the traditional text editor into a smart helper that can interpret complicated data for users.
Regarding the capture function, its latest version enhances the programme by enabling the addition of shapes to screenshots. Thanks to a new capture button in the toolbar, users can now easily combine rectangles, ovals, lines, and arrows to annotate their captures.
